The World As We Know It

Hello, readers. I warn you now, today's post is not for the faint of heart or the fearful.

In light of recent events, its pretty obvious that the world is changing. I know that's a given, since change is something that can not be stopped. It must happen. The world we live in today is not the same as the one our parents lived in.

But I was thinking about how the world will be different in a few years. All the major religions of the world have some kind of end of world story or prophesy. Its a disastrous event that leaves the world a burning mass of destruction, pock-marked by wars and riddled with disease and hunger and death. In all of these religions, the major deity (aka God) comes back for the faithful, and after, it's a happy world again.

But in order to get there, it requires a lot of pain and suffering. I mean, every bad thing you can think of has to happen. And this has me thinking as I watch the news and I watch what's going on with the economy, from gas prices to food prices to how hard it is to get a job, to politics. What if we are getting close to self-destruction?

The world is changing, I have no doubt of that. America, no matter how amazing we think we are, we are losing. We have gotten ourselves so deeply into debt, and we have no way to get out. Our value system is shot, and we have no way to fix it. I'm not saying everyone needs to get down on their knees and start begging for mercy from the God they believe in. No. What I'm saying is that there is something coming that we are not prepared for.

So, here are my questions for the day.
1) Clearly the world is changing. Do you believe it is bring us closer to the end?
and, if so
2) What does that end look like?
if not,
3) How will the world get better or fix itself?

I am sorry to post this, but I promised myself a while ago to be honest with you, my readers, and post what I believe is important. And this is pretty important.

Much love,
The Wondering Mind

  1. Worrying about the end of days to me is just going to stress you out. The world is always changing and I believe that the worlds actions do bring us closer or further to "the end". Every generation has said it could or is going to happen in their time. The end will be what you least expect. As for the world getting better, I think you should ask yourself if you are happy with the present or would you go back into the past even 500 years ago. I see the ffuture as always getting better but with the cost of what technology brings us.
