At It Again

I had to laugh today as yet again, another one of my least favorite groups has come against all that is moral and right and just.

Their name: The Westboro Baptist Church
Their mission: World Domination.

Ok, so I'm kidding about the whole World Domination thing, but these people desperately need to get a grip on reality and all that's decent before something bad happens. Like maybe they get stoned. Or God sends fire down from heaven to incinerate the whole church, protestation, church building, cars, and maybe all their pets, animals and livestock as well. Now that would be Old School Bible.

Anyone up for a stoning? Just kidding.

Well, here is the article that caught my attention today as this vile group did what they do best: Westboro to Protest Joplin, MO.

Now, once again, what really gets me, is how these people keep shooting themselves in the foot. Like protesting churches. Who does that? The Bible preaches unity, not division among the church.

And I don't understand why these people can't realize how much they have hurt themselves and their message. They have created a great deal of bad feeling among the people, therefor hurting the testimony of God's loving kindness. How can you further the gospel, when all you do is call people fags, tell everyone the tragedies in their lives are God's punishment, and spread hate and lies? Are they a little teched? I think so!

The only good thing to come out of all of this, is how many good people out there are willing to take a stand against this organization.

Doing things like this:

Hopefully there are some people in Missouri who have the ability to make it out to Joplin and put this organization in its proper place. In a backwater dilapidated church were the only attenders are in-bred from the same family.

So, without further ado, the questions of the day:
1) What would your sign say if you could protest the WBC?
and
2) Does this group affect the way you feel about Christians?

I am, as always, yours,

The Wondering Mind

  1. 1. "The problem with free will is the morons you get with it -------->" With the arrow towards the Cult (I refuse to call them a church).

    2. Kind of. I've always thought organized religion has a flaw in that mob mentality and "us vs them" can kick in and ruin the whole thing. WBC definitely adds to my discomfort when organized religion is brought up.
